For about a year we have been working on adding a wide board planer setup to our sawmill. We are excited to announce that it is now up and running. With our machine the wood slab stays stationary, while the drum planer head moves. This not only creates a planed surface but also joints the board to create 2 parallel surfaces. This eliminates the problem of twists and banana bends that come from using a traditional feed through planer.

The spiral carbide head provides a very smooth surface. After planing, only a light sanding is required. Our table building friends are finding this saving them a ton of sanding hours.

Specs:

Spiral planer head with over 600 carbide inserts
Maximum Board Width: 53″
Maximum Planer Height: 30″
10HP motor
Wood is stationary, and head moves on linear rails

Future Upgrades:
*30HP motor.
*CNC controlled
